I started working with people 11 years ago with neurofeedback as a result of working with a family member who had some concentration issues. I was so impressed with the results I decided to become a biofeedback coach and trainer. I was truly fascinated and encouraged by this amazing training that helped people who were unable to get the help they needed from the traditional methods. I was so impressed with the results that I started an association in Switzerland so that more people would be able to take advantage of this wonderful training.
The amount of people using neurofeedback has gone from three people in Switzerland to approximately three hundred psychologists, psychiatrists, medical practitioners, coaches and trainers working with neurofeedback and biofeedback. I have worked with many people, business people(managers and executives) adults and children who have wanted to feel better and perform better. It is with pleasure that I write that many of these people have achieved excellent results. For me this has been tremendously rewarding. I have seen business managers and executives perform better and lead better. I have seen children improve their handwriting, improve their concentration, socialize better, be more attentive, sleep better, behave better and generally be calmer. Generally, I have seen adults, become calmer, focus better, sleep better, respond to stress better and have better relationships with friends, family and work colleagues. I have seen people improve their sport and their musical abilities. I have seen people respond better to stress and lessen anxiety. After, a couple of years of working with neurofeedback, I began to work with biofeedback, which is based upon the same concept of neurofeedback except that the sensors are attached to the body. (Please refer to the sections on biofeedback)About 4 years ago, I began working with an Swiss executive coach, on a program that is called we have called HeartSmart®. In my work, I was able to put people in a state where they could be open and begin to learn and grow. But often, they lacked the valuable experiences which taught them how to cope with and to respond to life in a manner that would help them to survive and grow.
HeartSmart® is a structured program that gently guides people through the process that provides them with tools and knowledge that they will be able to use on regular basis throughout their lives. The principles of the program were based upon the practical experience learned in our own lives and those of our clients. These are principles of time(change takes time), encouragement, awareness, experience, practicality, acceptance, simplicity and practice. Biofeedback and neurofeedback are tools that are used in this program to help people to learn and grow quicker. It does not matter how old, how young or how smart. Change is possible with all.
The HeartSmart® program is not just about biofeedback and neurofeedback. The objective is self regulation. Learning what we need to do rather than forcing the situation. I would like to add that much of the HeartSmart® is about mindfulness. Part of which is understanding, ourselves, our thoughts and our emotions. We are very confident about this program and are amazed with the power of the simplicity. We feel that there is no other program like it. We feel that it is a program that can teach people how to survive the difficult times we are now experiencing.
